Dr. Mariah is originally from Uxbridge, Massachusetts. She graduated from UConn with her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Physiology & Health in 2018 before making her way to Boston, where she received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions in 2023. After an incredible several years in Boston, she decided to take on a new journey which led her to Saint Petersburg, Florida where she founded MOTIVE Physical Therapy & Performance.
Following a 10 year history of horseback riding, Mariah found CrossFit in high school. She has been coaching CrossFit since 2018 and has had the opportunity to work with athletes of all different backgrounds and ability levels, from an athlete on their first day at the gym to athletes in contention for the CrossFit Games. Along with CrossFitters, she has had the opportunity to work with amazing clients spanning a wide variety of hobbies and goals since working as a PT, including Hyrox, running, golfing, soccer, tennis, pickleball, weightlifting/powerlifting, jiu jitsu, karate, gymnastics, global fitness and more.
Outside of her CF Level 2 Certification, she has her Burgener Strength Weightlifting Level 1 Certification, as well as experience in various courses focusing on exercise progressions for athletes, nutrition, and programming.
Mariah is extremely passionate about helping athletes and clients achieve goals they’d never thought they’d reach or fix an injury they thought would forever limit them. Physical movement plays a huge role in our overall health, and with an active lifestyle, nagging aches and pains are sometimes part of the journey.
She helps her clients find ways to alleviate these pains and helps them build confidence in their training and recovery so they can get back to doing what they love – whether that’s in the gym, with work, playing a sport, or keeping up with their kids – the goal is to help them get back to their specific lifestyle.
When Mariah isn’t throwing weights around, you can find her at the nearest beach, spending time with friends and family, or looking for the best nachos and cookies in town.
